We are the ombudsman service set up to sort out disagreements between PRS for Music and those who may require or have obtained a licence for the public performance of copyright music.
Our service is independent and free to use. Our job is to investigate complaints fairly. We listen to both sides of the story and look at the facts.
We hope that this website will give you all the information that you are looking for, but please contact us if you need more details.
PRS for Music licenses the use of copyright music in the UK. It is authorised to license more than 10 million pieces of music created by songwriters and composers around the world. The licence is needed by anyone, usually a business or organisation, who wishes to play or perform music outside of the home environment. There are a variety of tariffs to suit different types of premises and users of music.
If you have been contacted by PRS for Music about the need for a licence, or if you think that you may require a licence, you should contact PRS for Music directly on 0845 309 3090 or visit its website.
